Popis: The non-stationary computerized tomography is a mathematically and technically sophisticated method allowing the determination of the locally varying absorption coefficients for penetrating radiation within a thin layer of the trunk. It is the only non-destroying procedure yielding detailed density patterns without superpositions in the tomogram. Devices for measuring the projection as the first step of the procedure were developed based on translation-rotation methods and on fan-beam methods. Different options for printing out and presentation of the tomograms ensure good visualization and evaluation of the sample. The method has been applied to forestry projects as well as to studies on single trees in public parcs or avenues.
