Superfluid Vortex Formation in 3 He Flow through Two-Dimensional Channels

Popis:	Computer simulations for superfluid 3He flow in two-dimensional geometries are presented. Dynamics of phase slippage in 3He is found to create quantized superfluid vortices traversing the flow; we also discover scenarios involving phase-slip lines. The total order parameter does not vanish–the phase slippage in 3He is intrinsically nonlocal in space-time.
