Popis:	It is shown that the critical velocity of vortex formation V/sub c/ in helium II, as measured in oscillation experiments, is strongly distorted by the delay effect, the elimination of which removes the dependence of Vc on the period, and the increase of V/sub c/ on approaching the lambda point is changed to a decrease.
