Popis: | This paper provides techniques and procedures to calibrate the stereomicroscope in a forensic document examiner’s laboratory and thus to reduce bias in producing microscopical images of handwriting, inks, writing and printing, or other evidence for more accurate presentations in forensic document examiners’ reports and for trial exhibits. Instructions are provided on how to determine field sizes at any magnification, how to calibrate a stereomicroscope eyepiece reticle for taking precise measurements, and how to create labeled scale bars for inclusion into photomicrographs.
