Popis: The capability and efficiency of Musca domestica L. for recycling different vegetable wastes, domestic organic trashes, ruminal manure with 4% ammonium hydroxide and compost has been studied during the optimum period of oviposition, for the purpose of obtaining a source of animal protein. M. domestica was able to recycle all materials but with differing efficiency. The quantities of pupae obtained after 7 days were higher at the end of the oviposition period (16 days), yielding the highest amount of fresh and dry weight and the highest crude protein. The best results were obtained with domestic organic trashes and ruminal manure and the lowest yield was provided by the compost
