Popis: | 1. It is shown that the atmospheric oxidation resistance of carbon fibers with pyrolytic silicon and zirconium carbide coatings is one order higher than that of uncoated fibers. 2. The oxidation resistance of carbon fibers with pyrolytic carbide coatings is two to three orders higher in a carbon dioxide atmosphere than in air. 3. The strength of coated carbon fibers is independent of both the nature of the oxidizing atmosphere and oxidation test temperature. |
