Popis: | The Ag 1 2 Cr ( 1 2 − x ) In x PS 3 (0 ⩽ x ⩽ 1 2 ) lamellar system was prepared at 700°C from the elements, except for In which was introduced through In2S3. From powder spectra analysis, it is shown that the crystal symmetry is monoclinic, space group P 2 a , for the lower x values, and orthorhombic, space group P21221, for the higher x values. A two-phase domain ranges from x ⋍ 0.20 to x ⋍ 0.35 . The magnetic susceptibility was measured from 4 to 300 K for samples belonging to the two types of phases, and an EPR study at X band was carried out from 77 to 500 K as well. The magnetic properties are discussed as a fonction of the nature of the diluted chromium (III) sub-lattice. In particular, for the monoclinic phase, a spin-glass behavior in a 1D magnetic framework is observed, in agreement with a previous preliminary study performed on a 2% indium containing compound. |
