Resume The meteorite found on September 27th, 1944 in the erg (sandy desert) of Oubari (Fezzan, Eastern Sahara) is a brecciated pyroxene peridotite chondrite. Although intensely crushed it contains fragments which show the unaltered primary structure of the stone: coarse crystals of hypersthene which irregularly lump together olivine, diopside, and clinopyroxenes-features (poikilitic structure) in which it resembles certain terrestrial rocks. The chemical composition is near to that of the amphoterite of Jelica. |
