Popis: Ischemic heart disease is a leading cause of death for most racial and ethnic minorities and is estimated to be responsible for one in seven deaths in the United States. Black adults have the highest burden of cardiovascular disease. Despite significant advances in treatment of ischemic heart disease and an increased awareness of racial disparities, racial and ethnic minority groups remained disproportionately burdened with ischemic heart disease and experience higher mortality and rehospitalization rates compared to Whites. This review details racial disparities in different syndromes, treatments, and outcomes of ischemic heart disease and suggests strategies for reducing or eliminating these disparities.
