Popis: | The Providence College Elementary/Special Education Program chronicles its journey as a teacher preparation program from one which relied on input measures (i.e., courses taken and grades received) to document the preparation of teacher candidates to one focusing on output measures (i.e., performance in coursework and the classroom). Utilizing the Rhode Island Beginning Teacher Standards (RIBTS), which are aligned with the Interstate New Teacher Assessment Support Consortium (INTASC) Standards, as the foundation for the transformation, the authors describe both the steps taken to implement standards and their measured attainment into college coursework, as well as the use of student portfolios. |
