Popis: | We describe a completely computer‐driven sensitive ac susceptometer for experiments at frequencies between 10 Hz and 5 kHz in the temperature range from 1.2 to 300 K and in magnetic fields from 0 to 6 T. The susceptibility is measured by moving the sample between the secondary coils, which form part of a mutual inductance bridge controlled by a personal computer. The temperature is regulated by a newly developed clamped PI algorithm. The calibration procedure is described as well as the experimental control program. Absolute values of the susceptibility are measured with an accuracy of 2% with a lower limit set by the noise of 10−12 m3 (or about 10−7 emu). Typical experimental results are presented. |
