This project will examine what drives individuals to protest against climate change, possibly in law-breaking or violent ways. In a previous research line, using qualitive in-depth interviews, we were able to capture various motivational constructs important for climate protest. In this project, we will use a quantitative survey design to examine how these previously identified constructs are associated with participation in climate protest. We will also investigate the psychological routes through which these constructs link to individuals’ willingness to engage in protests against climate change, be it in a peaceful, law-breaking or violent manners. |
