Popis: The state of the art on information security seems to highlight on the one hand a research activity heavily committed to identify technological solutions increasingly smart that can be easily integrated and deployed and on the other hand the constant and recurring presence of threats and attacks based on vulnerabilities considered dated or, in some scenarios, no longer in use. The purpose of this chapter is to stimulate the discussion on the reasons that led to this observable gap. The main aim is to better understand why in the cybersecurity game the defenders, pitted so far against attackers, seem to need some more time to set up properly, and perhaps they don’t know the match is already started long time ago.
