Popis:	Asperugin C, C 23 H 32 O 4 , has been identified as 2,4-dihydroxy-5-( trans-trans -farnesyloxy)-6-methylbenzaldehyde (XI). It is probably a shunt metabolite in the biosynthetic pathway leading to asperugin (II.) Several stages in the biosythesis of asperugin have been proposed.
