Popis: | The first optical fibre transmission experiment using an Erdoped optical fibre amplifier as an optical repeater is reported. With an optical repeater gain of 20 dB, 1.2 Gbit/s intensity-modulated optical signals were transmitted along a 218 km dispersion-shifted optical fibre without any optical filters and without any degradation. |
