The study of religious and political attitudes of youth at the all-Russian and regional level always has an increased research interest. The article was written on the basis of results in the mass political and sociological polls among the population of the Republic of Dagestan, as well as on the basis of surveys conducted by the author as part of the implementation of the research “ Precepts of religious and political radicalism in the Dagestan mass consciousness”. Surveys were conducted throughout the Republic of Dagestan among urban and rural youth. The article assesses the current religious situation in the Republic, reveals the degree of orientation of Dagestan young people to Islamic states, shows their attitude to Russian military actions in Syria, and to proselytizing activities by extremist religious-terrorist organizations, including ISIL/ DAISH, determines the probability of young people’s participation in those organizations. It gives an assessment of the electoral preferences among Dagestan youth. The degree of their trust in the state federal and regional authorities was determined, the attitude to the elections of heads for the Russian Federation constituent entities is shown and the level of protest mood is elicit. The influence of the religious factor on inter-ethnic relations in the Republic is revealed while the possible reasons for the exacerbation of the inter-ethnic situation in the region on religious grounds are identified. |
