Popis: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses l -lysine determination with automated analyzers. The production of amino acids in large amounts requires strict control of the process at all stages. This results in a large number of samples for analysis and consequently an automated method is of value. The chapter describes a photometric method that is used for the determination of l -lysine. This photometric method is rapid, very accurate, reliable, and reproducible. With slight modifications in the method, 10 other amino acids can be analyzed if the corresponding decarboxylases are used. Technicon-Autoanalyzer® with photometer and recorder is used in the method. The chapter provides an overview of the entire procedure of the method, including the principle, reagents, and solutions used in it. It also reviews the preparation of the solutions used in the method. There are some sources of error in the method. The chapter analyzes these sources of error. It further highlights the specificity of the method.
