Popis: Recently, food safety issues have occurred consistently in China. Questions regarding safety of food can have enormous socio-economic and political effects. Risk assessment is essential for ensuring that sound science is used to establish food safety policies, guidelines, and other recommendations to improve consumer protection and facilitate international trade. Accordingly, much attention has been given to the development of risk assessment in China. The paper discusses food safety risk assessment systems in China. The paper investigates the policies of food safety risk assessment, and then examines the structure and mission of China's National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment. Moreover, the paper thoroughly introduces the implementation of risk assessment and risk surveillance systems in China.
