Popis: | 1. The method of analyzing the results of observations here developed enables us to estimate the influence function for standard-manufactured electrical measuring instruments. 2. The combined influence of external factors on the error of the instrument differs considerably from that obtained by summing the separate effects of the individual factors. Hence, in order to allow for the combined influence of several external factors, we must construct multidimensional influence functions. 3. In determining the influence function we must allow for correlation between the observations; this leads to a very considerable gain in the accuracy of our estimates of the parameters of the influence function. This in fact means that the number of experiments may be made considerably smaller than that required for the method of least squares giving the same accuracy; hence the cost of certifying electrical measuring instruments is reduced. |
