Popis: | An optical scanning system to read and record large-size images having lm width has been developed. The laser beam is deflected by an acousto-optical deflector (AOD) and the optical head on which the imaging lens is mounted is moved with high speed at right angles to the optical scanning axis. The mechanical feed parallel to the optical scanning axis is also added to scan the entire surface of the image. To maximize the scanning speed, the laser beam is separated into two beams and the data sets are read and recorded simultaneously. The optical design must consider the variations in the optical length caused by the movement of the optical head. A cylindrical lens and a ROM to maintain the constant-frequency sweeping speed are necessary to compensate for the cylindrical effect of the AOD. As the CCD has considerable problems with lighting, it is desirable to use a photomultiplier for the scanner. |
