Popis: There are several methods to treat panarthritis of the wrist joint, including denervation, wrist joint replacement and arthrodesis. The following results of a study on arthrodesis should be considered against the background of the increasing significance of wrist joint replacement. 32 patients with painful arthritis in the wrist were treated with wrist arthrodesis. Follow-up examination was performed after an average of 4,3 years. The rate of bony consolidation was 100%. No complications were reported regarding extensor tendon function. Preoperative pain was evaluated on a numerical rank scala (NRS) at median nine, in the follow-up at median three. Grip strength compared to the contralateral side was 34% preoperatively and 71% in the follow-up. The DASH score was at median 58 preoperatively and 43 in the follow-up. We consider wrist joint arthrodesis as a standard treatment for wrist joint panarthritis.
