Popis: Leiomyosarcoma of the small intestine is rare, and tends to metastasize hematogenously to the liver or peritoneum. We experienced a resected case of solitary retoroperitoneal metastasis 5 years after the primary resection of jejunal lesion. A 50-year-old man undergoing a partial resection of the jejunum for a jejunual endoenteric leiomyosarcoma without postoperative chemotherapy 5 years before was pointed out having a mass at the caudal side of the pancreas by abdominal CT scan. Under a probable diagnosis of recurrence of the jejunal leiomyosarcoma, an excision of the tumor was performed. As the route of metastasis in this case, lymph node metastasis was most likely, but a possibility of another primary tumor could not be ruled out. In the Japanese literature only another one case has been reported in which retroperitoneal recurrence of small intestinal leiomyosarcoma was successfully excised. Leiomyosarcma of the small intestine would demand careful follow up and active resection if it recurs.
