Bullying, suicide, and self-injury are significant public health issues among young people. Extensive research has documented bullying victimization associations with suicidal ideation and self-injury; however, the modeling approaches used have mostly offered evidence only on their between-person relations or reflected a difficult-to-interpret mixture of within- and between-person relations. This study aimed to examine the within-person, bidirectional relations between these constructs in adolescence and early adulthood, to advance our understanding of these links from a developmental perspective and guide intervention efforts. |
