While the focus of the first part of the book was on introducing AI-based Data Science for solving business problems, the objective of this second part is to discuss how this powerful technology can be applied in industrial settings. It includes six chapters. Chapter 6 gives an overview of the work process and the project organization step. The remaining five chapters are focused on the details of the key steps of the process. Chapter 7 discusses the important and neglected step of problem knowledge acquisition. Chapter 8 gives details of the most time-consuming step, data preparation, while Chap. 9 clarifies the different methods for analyzing the data. The topic of model development and validation is discussed in Chap. 10 and model deployment and maintenance issues are covered in Chap. 11. |
