THE Ohio soybean crop growth and development simulator (SOYMOD/OARDC) was used to predict dry matter and seed yield responses for several years of weather data and various cultural practices. This article describes the modeling and verification of reproductive processes in indeterminate soybeans. Flowering, podfill, fruit abortion and the effect of fruiting on grand sene-cence are considered. The model can be used to predict physiological maturity from a given date of emergence. Predictions of seed yield and plant dry matter demo-strate that SOYMOD is working correctly, based on field data and published data from the literature. |
