The purpose of this study is to see how emotional intimacy influences physical attraction in couples in short-term and long-term relationships. We define emotional intimacy as feelings of closeness and connectedness. We define short-term as less than 1 year and long-term as 1 year or longer. Couples will be randomly assigned to complete one of two activities together. They will either ask each other ten questions intended to produce feelings of emotional intimacy for 20 minutes or watch 20 minutes of a nature documentary. After completing the assigned activity, each partner within the couple will complete a survey measuring feelings of physical attraction to their partner. |
