Although a number of genes able to inhibit HIV-1 replication have been described, a valid comparison of their potency was difficult up to now due to the lack of a standardised assay system. In order to develop such an assay, we established an HIV-1 challenge system based on a permissive human T cell line. The cells were transduced using an optimised MLV vector transferring the marker gene egfp in additon to the therapeutic gene. |
