High pressure apparatus and method for the differential thermal analysis of polymers at high pressures

Popis: A description is given of the apparatus and method of DTA used at pressures up to 8000 kg/cm 2 and temperatures up to 400°. Polymers with appropriate proportions can be heat treated in this apparatus. A variation in rates of heating and cooling from 0·1 to 30 deg/min enables processes of overheating, supercooling and recrystallization to be examined. The specimen is completely isolated from the medium which transmits the pressure. ≈0·01 g polyethylene is used for DTA.
