In this article we show the comparison of linear plots of electrical potential obtained by direct measurement on the cylinder surface with analytical electric potential distribution for the dipole with the same location and dipole moment. Here we show the construction of physical cylinder model ─ cylindrical tank filled with conducting liquid and electric dipole represented by two conducting disks. The disks are symmetrically fed by sinusoidal generator with transformer output. The electric potentials are measured in the locations of boundary pick-up electrodes. Such electrodes are located on lateral surface of the cylinder in two directions - along the cylinder height and along its circular cross-section. Our model differ from E. Frank's by two features: we use brass disks instead of nickel and we use transformer with physical phasing of coils. The electrical potential distributions obtained in this article with physical and mathematical methods are very close (the relative error is smaller or equal than 10%). |
