In global navigation satellite systems more visible satellites are used to increase the precision of user position. However, due to power consumption and limited receiver channels and other conflicts it may be not possible to use all visible satellites. The optimal subset consists of four satellites is selected based on either GDOP or volume of tetrahedron formed by selected satellites. For the optimal subset selection invasive weed optimization method is proposed with two different fitness functions. For this analysis the data collected at Vijayawada which is located at (997049.6844, 6037144.0359, 1793693.1220) on $10^{th}$ March 2018 is used. It is observed that selected satellites based on GDOP criteria give the better positioning performance. |
