Popis: Economic policies must be subjected to scrutiny to allow successful policiesto be reproduced and mistakes to be reversed. In Mexico, legislation that made the labor market more flexible was implemented and sufficient time has now passed to determine the effect this legislation has had on wages. The objective of this article is to estimate the impact of labor legislation on the wage gap between workers with written contracts and workers without written contracts, including both temporary and permanent workers. To this end, the difference-in-differences (DID) method was used to ascertain the causal impact of the labor legislation.
