Calcium oxalate monohydrate is major component of urinary stone that is generally found in two different varieties, calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM) or whewellite, calcium oxalate dehydrate (COD) or weddellite. It is difficult to form urinary stones from COD because COD crystals are unstable and are easily excreted in the urine of both humans and animals. Calcium oxalate monohydrate has been crystallised in silica gel by single diffusion technique. The grown crystals are studied by FT-IR, XRD and UV-visible and dielectric analysis. |
