Popis: Hypothermic fibrillatory arrest without aortic occlusion is a technique of myocardial preservation that has been utilized for many years in cardiac surgery. In our institution the basic tenets of this method of myocardial preservation were developed in the late 1960s by Dr. Eldred Mundth and associates during the initiation of coronary artery bypass grafting [1]. During the 1970s several modifications in the technique were made as better understanding of myocardial protection evolved.
