Popis: | The wicked Carabel (El malvado Carabel), Wenceslao Fernandez Florez's novel published in 1931 which supports two momentous movies, directed respectively by Edgar Neville (1935) and Fernando Fernan-Gomez (1955), is the bridge between the best republican cinema and the tense look before the Franco's fascist horror of later spanish films, both formally and meaningfully in the 50's. The assay intends to reveal on which way Fernandez Florez's literature finds the means to offer a dark portrait of the gloomy life in our country in spanish cinema. |
