Popis: An Electrical machine is a device which can ease the human effort. Conventional DC motors lost its significance because of its complicated commutation and maintenance. Almost 70% of the machines used in industries are Induction Motors (IM). Due to its advantages over the other machines, Induction machines replaced conventional DC machines. Even though it has many advantages which are required for industrial application, there are some disadvantages of IM which includes poor starting torque and high in rush currents. They operate under worst lagging power factor which increases I2R losses in the system, reduction in the efficiency of the system. Nowadays, Special Machines are used to meet the demand of various applications. Among special machines, Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) is finding massive application in various fields due to its high performance when combined together with the power electronics. The proposed work involves design of 8/6 SRM motor geometry, design validation, and simulation using Ansys - RMxprt and Maxwell design tool. Further the performance of the machine has been analyzed through waveforms and characteristics and finally the analysis report has been prepared in order to decide the suitability of the machine for various possible applications.
