The gene expression studies associated with fungal endophytes propose a potential role in combating various biotic and abiotic stresses. This study paradigm provides a diverse outlook to use these endophytes as biocontrol agents via exploring the diverse mechanisms lying underneath the plant and endophytic symbiosis interaction. The gene expression profiling aided to the unexplored field (endophytic and plant interaction) unlocks various alleyways to a mammoth understanding of basic mechanisms and role of endophytes and can acknowledge different mitigation strategies against biotic and abiotic stresses. The biotechnology tools offer a great support in profiling expression levels of gene through RT PCR, microarray, and transcriptome profiling. The present chapter abridges the relevant findings in expression studies with respect to endophyte-induced gene expression changes associated with plant–microbe interaction, including proteomic and metabolomics strategy. |
