Popis: | Application of nano zinc phosphate coating on magnesium alloy via strontium phosphate pretreatment being studied. Preliminary investigation has been carried out to observe the pretreated and unpretreated phosphate coating on magnesium alloys. The observations were made during the process, and the phosphate deposition on specimen surface were discussed. Based on the surface morphology observation, pretreated sample showed better coating compared to unpretreated sample. The findings were consistent with electrochemical impedance spectroscopy which indicated better corrosion protection characteristics of the pretreated sample compared with the unpretreated one. Further investigation needs to be undertaken to establish the optimum pretreatment parameters in order to develop a new phosphate coating composition. |
