Popis: At the present stage of the development of the society many researchers state the increasing role of gender in international migration flows and problems associated with it. However, this perspective is not sufficiently studied, respectively it is very difficult to give specific advice to ensure the socio-cultural security of female migration which is considered a high-risk area. The paper presents an analysis of the still few data obtained in Europe and Russian cities. The empirical base of the study was obtained through questionnaires and interviews, mainly of migrant women. The analysis revealed the acceptability of migration for women of different ethnic groups, their motivation for going abroad, their desire for financial independence, the relationship of professional and family responsibilities, their social circles in the host country and their plans for the future. Particular attention is paid to migration flows from Middle Asia. At the end of the article there are some recommendations on possible trends providing socio-cultural security of migrants and the host society.
