Popis:	The effect of trampling on the Acari, (Soil mites) and the Collembola, (Springtails) in footpaths on Kinver Edge in Staffordshire is described. The distribution of the two groups of animals is clearly effected by pressure from trampling. Possible reasons for the uneven distribution of Acari and Collembola in footpaths are discussed.
