Popis:	Bastiaenen and Behr commented on relevant issues related to the early repolarization (ER) ECG pattern in their letter to the editor. Some recent publications have emphasized terminal QRS changes instead of the classical definition of ER with ST-segment elevation as a risk marker. Our group demonstrated that classical ER with an upsloping/rapidly ascending ST-segment does not associate with an increased mortality risk in middle-aged subjects,1 although the implications of this specific pattern require further confirmation in other populations, such as patients with idiopathic ventricular fibrillation.
