Due to high electricity demand and decreasing fossil fuel sources, most of the countries around the world are switching towards renewable energy sources for electricity generation. The Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) and wind energy systems have gained wide attention as alternative sources for electricity generation. These systems are integrated with the grid through inverters. The present work emphasizes on implementing a Five-level grid connected inverter for high power hybrid distribution systems. Five-level inverters also known as Multi-level inverter synthesize a near sinusoidal voltage from several levels of DC voltages. The use of Five-level inverter increases the voltage and power delivered to the load. The performance of inverter is explored through simulation investigations of the PV-Wind (Hybrid) Distribution system using MatLab/Simulink. |
