This symposium presents the work that has been done by the members of the current IEA executive and particularly the members of the Professional Standards and Education Standing Committee to update the IEA Core Competencies in Ergonomics that were developed in 2001. The original documents can be found on the IEA website under Resources [1]. There is an introductory document, a full version which includes units, elements and performance criteria, and a summary version. In the symposium the proposed revision will be described and feedback from interested educators is desired. The revision aims to simplify the document, include newer developments in the profession according to the recommendations of the IEA strategy paper on the future of ergonomics and remove outdated elements. |
