Popis: A new original LoRa-based data acquisition system for wildfire detection is developed and presented. The emphasis in the paper is pointed towards hardware design concepts, physical system architecture, and implementation as well as embedded firmware structural details and algorithms. The main purpose of the proposed design is to propose techniques whose goals are to improve upon existing WSN fire hazard detection system designs by reducing the end-device power consumption. These techniques and the data analytical steps are described in detail, and evaluation on the basis of testing of their overall system performance improvement has been shown.
