Popis: Publisher Summary The estimation of the performance of a dredger in any given set of site and soil conditions is no easy task. However, it is not only the very experienced or technically specialized engineer who can attempt it. Naturally, those organizations which own and operate dredgers, and have built up detailed records of each dredger's performance, will be best able to assess the performance of a particular unit, but given sufficient information, any engineer should be able to estimate dredger output with sufficient accuracy to form the basis of programming and budget job costing. It has been emphasized that important pre-tender cost estimates and detailed plant programs should only be attempted by engineers who have specialized in this work, as there are many pitfalls for the uninitiated.
