Popis: The main features of the AMS system based on the 6 MV tandem accelerator at the Shanghai Institute of Nuclear Research are described. A number of modifications of the ion source, beam optics design and sample preparation have been made. The system will be used primarily for 10 Be, 14 C and 26 Al analysis. A similar capability should be possible for other rare isotopes. It will be applied to various fields of geology, meteoritics, oceanography and archaeology.
