Popis: | Presentation of Case A 52-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of progressive neurologic deterioration. She was well until several years earlier, when she became increasingly irritable. Five years before admission psychotherapy was initiated for a manic—depressive illness. During the next few years she used barbiturates, tranquilizers, and amphetamines regularly and was admitted to a hospital on one occasion because of drug overdose. One year before entry her behavior at work began to decline; she avoided complex decisions, made errors in judgment, and often berated her co-workers. Six months before admission she became lost en route to an appointment . . . |
