Popis: Numerous examples confirm the utility, and even the desirability of juvenile wood. However, in general, it is considered to be undesirable, especially in the conifers, due to its low specific gravity, short cells, adverse spiral grain and large microfibril angles. Many suggestions have been made on how to reduce the amount of juvenile wood, or to produce juvenile wood with characteristics more similar to those of mature wood; some are covered below.
