Popis: Social policy to eliminate poverty is traced from the Progressive Era to the present. New forms of social distress have arisen with post-industrial society. Before a new social policy can be developed, causes of poverty as they relate to family structure must be addressed. A tough-minded approach to post-industrial social issues may lead to a more mature American social policy.
