Popis: Both wettability and climbing of melted welding material toward diamond grains were improved and the appearance for the part outside the welding material of diamond grains was perfected using cool welding of diamond grains. A regular rough welding interface of welded diamond grains was observed. The concave surface of the welded diamond grains was filled with the welding material, which decreases the distance between the welding material and the welded diamond grains mesh. The equibiaxial residual stress for annealed diamond grains welded with cool welding was 0.13 GPa andthat for the brazed diamond grains was 0.17 GPa. Extended brazing time reduced the order degree of the brazed diamond. For a constant grinding time, the top platform area was smaller than that of the brazed diamond grains due to the wear-and-tear of the diamond grains welded using cool welding. The grinding efficiency of the diamond grains after cool welding toward granite was higher than that of the brazed diamond grains.
