Popis:	This study examined the visual content of television coverage of Jesse Jackson's speech to the 1984 Democratic National Convention. Telecasts by ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and C‐SPAN were analyzed for how various production techniques altered the visual presentation and potentially offered viewers different interpretations. Differences in the selection, composition, and juxtaposition of visual images by the five news sources demonstrate that visual aspects of a mediated public communication event has a life of its own.
